In our fluctuating world of moral relativism, God's commandments stand as firm as the rocks they were etched into. Children want and need absolute standards. In Generation Next, George Barna tells us that 92 percent of Christian teens feel that what is right for one person in a certain situation may not be right for another person in a similar situation. It is only God's unchanging standards for morality that form the foundation of a sane society. Yet this is only one function of the law.
Simply put, "The law was put in charge to lead us to Christ" (Galatians 3:24a). This fall it is our desire that our point of discipleship would be this humbling discovery: That we know that through the Law our sin is real, that through the Cross our sin is gone!

Our "Travel Guide to the 10 Commandments" will lead our children into these joyful discoveries. Teaching God's Law is not optional. (See Deuteronomy 11:19) As our kids journey through their murky gray wold, I hope this book will serve as a sentinel crying out, "Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!" (Deuteronomy 5:29)
