The Servant Life

Passage: Psalm 119:121–128

Main Idea: The Lord’s Servants treasure God’s Word through obedience and love, seek after wisdom and knowledge, and love the goodness of God’s Word.

The Lord’s servants act with justice and righteousness and hope in the Lord and the truth of His Word.

  • 121-122 I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors. Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me.

The Lord’s Servants seek after wisdom and knowledge and plead for God to act.

The Lord’s Servants love God’s Word and hate falsehood.

  • 127-128 Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold. Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way.

So What?

  • Christ is the ultimate example of the Lord’s Servant, and as His disciples, we must seek the truth of His Word and live a life that reflects the truth.
