Walking In Brotherly Love
- 9 Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another,
- Ephesians 4:31 – 5:2
- 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more,
- 1 Thessalonians 4:1
Walking Properly Before Outsiders
- 11a and to aspire to live quietly,
- Proverbs 21:23
- 1 Timothy 2:1, 2
- Hebrews 12:14
- 11b and to mind your own affairs,
- 2 Thessalonians 3:11, 12
- Philippians 2:4
- 11c and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,
- 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
- Colossians 4:5, 6
So What?
- We demonstrate the sanctifying power of the gospel in the way we walk among each other and the world.
- Colossians 3:1–3
Further Discussion
- In what ways do I struggle to show brotherly love towards fellow Christians?
- How is “living a quiet life,” “minding your own affairs,” and “working with your hands” connected to holiness and sanctification?
- In which of those three areas do you most often struggle to demonstrate Christlikeness?
